This page explains traffic accounting at Onidel Cloud.

Each subscription-based VM on Onidel gets its own traffic allocation at the time of purchase.

* Service Location (cost of bandwidth is much higher in APAC than NA and EU [regions](https://kb.onidel.com/hc/kb/articles/1756044057-data-transfer-bandwidth-pooling#regions))

* vCPU Count

* RAM Size

In case of Hourly Billing, the usable traffic is not allocated at once, rather dynamically increasing over time, as explained [here](https://kb.onidel.com/hc/kb/articles/1756094438-hourly-billing#how-are-bandwidth-caps-calculated).

# How is it measured?

The sum of incoming and outgoing traffic is accounted. Thus, if you run a [VPN](https://kb.onidel.com/hc/kb/articles/1772612495-how-to-set-up-a-wireguard-server) (which relays the traffic between end user device and the internet), your used traffic will be accounted as double.

# When does it reset?

Traffic counter resets on the 1st day of each month.

[Additional bandwidth](https://kb.onidel.com/hc/kb/articles/1757480528-how-to-purchase-extra-bandwidth) purchased is also removed on the 1st day of the month.

# What happens after I run out of traffic?

If you exceed your traffic allocation, network of your Virtual Machine will be capped at **5 mbps** for the remaining time of the month.

No additional fees are expected, unless your service is on [Hourly Billing](https://kb.onidel.com/hc/kb/articles/1756094438-hourly-billing#how-are-bandwidth-caps-calculated), where overage charges apply.
