Onidel Cloud allows you to bring your own licensed copy of Windows Server and install it manually via a custom ISO. This guide walks you through preparing and installing Windows Server on a VPS using our VNC and ISO mounting features.

Upload your Windows Server ISO

Prepare a direct HTTP URL that points to your Windows Server ISO file. Links from cloud storage services like Google Drive or Dropbox are typically not supported unless they provide a direct download link.
Login to ** Onidel Cloud**, then go to *Orchestration > Custom ISOs*
Paste the direct ISO URL into the input field and click Upload

If the URL is valid, Onidel Cloud will begin transferring the ISO to your account. The download status will be updated every 5 minutes. Once the upload is complete, you will see a green Active status.

Please note that these terms and conditions may be updated at any time. By accessing this website, you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, please refrain from using Onidel Cloud. The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Statement, the Disclaimer Notice, and all related agreements:

"Customer" refers to the individual or entity that has ordered services provided by Onidel.
"Customer Service" describes the relationship between Onidel staff and the Customer, aimed at assisting the Customer with any inquiries they may have.
"Service", "Service(s)", or "Services" encompasses any product(s) or service(s) that the Customer has signed up for. This may include, but is not limited to, the provision of server space, internet connectivity for web, email hosting, FTP services, domain name registration, transfer or renewal, SSL, and VPS. These product(s) and service(s) are detailed in the "sign up" and "service provision" emails sent by Onidel following the Customer's service request. How to Configure Reverse DNS

Reverse DNS (rDNS), also known as a PTR record, links an IP address to a domain name, typically a subdomain. This process works in the opposite direction of regular (forward) DNS, where a domain name is connected to an IP address.

For example, if you set the reverse DNS for IP 123.123.123.123 to mail.example.com:

When you query the IP address of mail.example.com using a command like DIG, you'll receive the IP 123.123.123.123.
Conversely, performing a reverse DNS lookup on 123.123.123.123 will return mail.example.com.

Reverse DNS is often used to verify the source of an email, adding an extra layer of security. Many email servers are configured to reject or flag messages as spam if the sending IP does not have a valid reverse DNS record.

How to Configure Reverse DNS

To configure the reverse DNS, log in to the Onidel Cloud Control Panel, navigate to the service that has the IP you want to configure and click on Reverse DNS tab:

To add a new Reverse DNS record or update an existing one, input the IP address concerned and enter the domain and click Add/Update Reverse DNS.

How does hourly billing work?

Onidel Cloud provides hourly billing in select locations, where cloud server charges accrue in hourly increments. Currently, hourly charges are deducted directly from the customer's account balance, so customers must recharge their account before provisioning hourly VMs.

How am I billed for my VMs?

The hourly rate is calculated by dividing the monthly rate by 672 hours (28 days). If your VM remains online for more than 672 hours within a calendar month, you will only be billed the monthly rate. An invoice with accumulated charges will be generated on the 1st of each month for your reference.

If you upgrade or downgrade your VM, it will incur one full hour's charge at the current rate before the update is applied, which may result in charges exceeding 672 hours in months when resizing occurs.

VMs in a stopped state continue to reserve dedicated system resources and will incur charges until they are destroyed. To stop accruing charges for a VM, please terminate the service.

How are bandwidth caps calculated?

Each month consists of 672 hours, and bandwidth allocations are distributed hourly throughout the month. If you exceed your allocated bandwidth at any point, an overage charge will apply.

Bandwidth for each VM is allocated on an hourly basis while the instance is active. The monthly bandwidth cap varies depending on the VM's specifications, so for each hour the instance operates, you accrue one hour's worth of its monthly cap.
