Unplanned Shutdown in Windows Server

If your Windows Server is shutting down unexpectedly - especially at regular intervals - it is likely due to an expired evaluation license or unlicensed installation. To avoid this, we recommend using a properly licensed Windows image. Onidel provides fully licensed Windows VMs through our control panel, which do not experience this issue. If you are using your own Windows ISO, please ensure it is correctly licensed and activated.

Outbound emails don't work

TCP port 25 is blocked by default to prevent abuse. If you intend to use your Onidel server to send emails, please submit a support ticket to request that the port be opened. Be sure to select the relevant service in the ticket form and provide a clear explanation of your intended email usage. Please note that we take IP reputation seriously and strictly prohibit any spam-related activity.

Outbound RDP connections don't work

Onidel applies various default security settings, such as blocking outbound RDP (TCP port 3389) connections. This helps prevent malware-infected servers from being used in brute-force or DDoS attacks targeting other Windows systems on the internet. If you have a legitimate need for outbound RDP traffic, you can easily disable the block: 1. Go to your VM Management page 2. Click the Security tab 3. Locate the option "Block Outgoing RDP" 4. Toggle the switch to disable the block Once this setting is updated, your server will be able to initiate RDP connections to external systems.

Outbound SSH connections don't work

By default, Onidel servers block outbound SSH connections as a security precaution. This measure helps prevent compromised servers from being used to launch attacks against external systems. As a result, you won't be able to initiate SSH connections to other servers or use SSH-based tools (such as Git) without adjusting this setting. To disable this protection: 1. Go to the VM Management page. 2. Navigate to the Security tab. 3. Toggle off the Block Outgoing SSH option. This will allow your server to make outbound SSH connections as needed.
