Traffic Accounting

Last updated on Mar 14, 2026

This page explains traffic accounting at Onidel Cloud.

Each subscription-based VM on Onidel gets its own traffic allocation at the time of purchase.

The exact allocation amount depends on a few factors:

  • Service Location (cost of bandwidth is much higher in APAC than NA and EU regions)

  • vCPU Count

  • RAM Size

In case of Hourly Billing, the usable traffic is not allocated at once, rather dynamically increasing over time, as explained here.

How is it measured?

The sum of incoming and outgoing traffic is accounted. Thus, if you run a VPN (which relays the traffic between end user device and the internet), your used traffic will be accounted as double.

When does it reset?

Traffic counter resets on the 1st day of each month.

Additional bandwidth purchased is also removed on the 1st day of the month.

What happens after I run out of traffic?

If you exceed your traffic allocation, network of your Virtual Machine will be capped at 5 mbps for the remaining time of the month.

No additional fees are expected, unless your service is on Hourly Billing, where overage charges apply.
